THE WHAT? Beiersdorf has reported its results for the third quarter and first nine months of financial 2021. The German manufacturer of Nivea saw ‘strong sales improvement’ with sales growth of 12 percent to €5.8 billion exceeding the pre-COVID levels of 2019.

THE DETAILS The consumer business segment recorded organic sales growth of 10.4 percent in the first nine months of the year, driven by the strong performance of the company’s dermatological brands, Eucerin and Aquaphor and the strong recovery of the La Prairie business.

Looking forward, Beiersdorf expects the resurgence of travel retail and demand for sun care products to boost sales further in 2022, according to a report published by Reuters, as it launches its Eucerin Sun line onto the US market.
