THE WHAT? The Estee Lauder Companies has announced that it has become the first prestige beauty company to join the Pulpex partner consortium. As a member, Lauder joins a group of leading CPG companies committed to developing paper bottle packaging.
THE DETAILS The consortium’s goal is to help ensure that the Pulpex technology, which creates bottles from wood pulp using FSC-certified renewable feedstocks, and that are widely recyclable, is quickly scaled and widely adopted across multiple product categories.
THE WHY? The initiative will support Lauder’s global sustainable packaging goals to reduce the amount of virgin plastic used in its packaging to 50 percent or less by 2030’s close.
