THE WHAT? The Estée Lauder Companies (ELC) has been included in the Dow Jones Sustainability Index (DJSI) for North America in 2021.
THE DETAILS Focusing on large global companies, the ‘DJSI are float-adjusted market capitalization weighted indices that measure the performance of businesses selected with environmental, social and governance (ESG) criteria,’ according to a press release.
THE WHY? The inclusion of ELC in the index is recognition of the company’s ESG performance over the past year, and continued commitment to transparency and disclosure.
The results of the Index are said to help ELC address the solutions need to move its ESG strategy forward while recognising new areas of opportunity.
