THE WHAT? The Estee Lauder Companies has announced that it has become the first prestige beauty company to join the Pulpex partner consortium. As a member, Lauder joins a group of leading CPG companies committed to developing paper bottle packaging.
THE DETAILS The consortium’s goal is to help ensure that the Pulpex technology, which creates bottles from wood pulp using FSC-certified renewable feedstocks, and that are widely recyclable, is quickly scaled and widely adopted across multiple product categories.
THE WHY? The initiative will support Lauder’s global sustainable packaging goals to reduce the amount of virgin plastic used in its packaging to 50 percent or less by 2030’s close. Daniel Ramos, Senior Vice President, Global Packaging, explains, “Exploring alternative materials and more responsible concepts into our packaging design is a strategic imperative, but we know we can’t do it alone. Scaling innovation will be key to driving sustainable packaging solutions. At The Estée Lauder Companies, we’ve long understood the importance of partnership across industries in helping to drive meaningful change. Collaboration plays a significant role in achieving our ambition, and as part of the Pulpex consortium, we are proud to help advance solutions not only for our brands and consumers but also for the industry at large.”

-
Skincare Products: These include medical-grade cleansers, moisturizers, serums, and topical treatments containing active ingredients like retinoids, antioxidants, and growth factors. They are formulated to address specific skin concerns such as acne, aging, and hyperpigmentation.
-
Hair Restoration Products: Medical treatments and products designed to promote hair growth and treat conditions such as male and female pattern baldness.
-
